Still not fully got my head round it or how much they're meant to keep. Not all bar staff understand the concept either, especially in the city centre where a lot are students and loads of people pay by card anyway.

I went to a Hipster pub in the year 2063 and it was a hundred quid a pint.

I had some free tickets to a Noel Galagher concert on Friday (it was shit) and they were charging £7 for a 330 mil bottle of Heineken, which works out at around £12 a pint.

Re: Where is the most expensive pint in England?
Could be about to get even more expensive due to a "shortage" of CO2 for the pumps:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-44545010

Seems baffling to me considering the vast volumes of CO2 produced by fermenting the beer in the first place. I don't understand why they don't capture it in the brewery and sell it to the pubs alongside their beer. Sounds like a no brainer to me.

Mind you I prefer beer that doesn't have CO2 pumped into it when it's served.

Re: Where is the most expensive pint in England?

In Liverpool they do "and take your own", essentially meaning keep about 20-50p of the change. Weird way of tipping.

This is true though I recall it being more "one for yourself". Because buying yourself a drink for every person you served would make you literally unable to work in about half an hour, they take a nominal tip instead. This is a common sense compromise, but it doesn't make sense for people not used to it.
